June 2009
Dear Connecticut Chapter HFMA Members and internet visitors:
On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors we would like to welcome you to the Connecticut Chapter Healthcare Financial Management Association’s website. Our website provides information about our chapter including our chapter leadership, dates for upcoming educational programs and social events, chapter newsletters and links to the HFMA National website. We hope that you find this website filled with the information that you are looking for to make the most out of your HFMA experience.
The 2008-09 year was truly amazing for our Chapter as I am extremely happy to report that at the ANI conference held June 15th-17th, the Connecticut Chapter received three awards: The C. Henry Hottum Award for Educational Performance Improvement, the Silver award of Excellence for Certification and the Bronze award of Excellence for Membership Growth and Retention. Additionally, the Connecticut Chapter along with the Maine, Massachusetts-Rhode Island and New Hampshire - Vermont Chapters received a multi-chapter Yeager award for improvement. Thank you to the chapter leaders, committee members, the active participation of our members, and generosity of our sponsors – you were instrumental in the achievement of these awards!
The goals set out for this year include providing quality education to our members and sustaining our membership growth. We strive to offer education that will provide useful tools and information to help you achieve better results. That’s why I am very excited about the upcoming year.
Your involvement in chapter activities will be the key to the continuation of our chapter’s success. I encourage you to participate in our chapter by volunteering for a committee, attending educational programs, becoming a sponsor or network with colleagues at our social events. By reaching out to a board member or a committee chair you can get involved in our chapter.
As Chapter President I feel both privileged and honored to be able serve the dedicated healthcare professionals that comprise the membership of our chapter. Thank you for visiting the Connecticut HFMA website and for taking the time to learn about our Chapter. We are very interested in your feedback and welcome any comments, suggestions or questions you might have about our website.
Have a great day and I look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
