The Officers and Board of Directors are proud to announce our 64th Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Chapter of HFMA at a new venue, the beautiful Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, Connecticut. We have a wonderfully diverse group of speakers that will focus on the theme: Where is Healthcare Going? Please join us for a day filled with experts from all aspects of the healthcare delivery system and learn new and innovative ways each of them is gearing up for change.
Our Keynote speaker is Leah Binder, CEO of the Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog Group is a nationally recognized organization aimed at mobilizing employer purchasing power bringing a focus to America’s health industry that big leaps in healthcare safety, quality and customer value will be recognized and rewarded. Among other initiatives, Leapfrog works with its employer members to encourage transparency and easy access to healthcare information.
We are also thrilled to have presentations by Anthem BCBS, Value Care Alliance and Walgreens that will examine initiatives from the payer, provider and retail environments. And, back by popular demand is the CEO panel!

Congratulations to Jodi Depalma (Norwalk Hospital), Christina Hage (Healthy CT), Matt Schuster (Eastern Accounts) and Krista Strazza (TCORS) on their election to the CT HFMA Board of Directors. Also, congratulaions to Patrick Garvey (CCMC) on his re-election.

Norwalk Hospital, along with 5 other hospitals, was awarded the MAP [Measure, Apply, Perform ] Award for Performance Improvement in revenue cycle at the Health Care Financial Management [HFMA] October MAP conference. The MAP Award recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate measurable improvement in MAP Revenue Cycle Keys- key performance indicators that set the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry.
Norwalk Hospital was recognized for its recent revenue cycle LEAN performance improvement activity over the past few years. This activity resulted in net days of accounts receivable of 29 days, which measures the average length in days to secure payment after service is provided. The best practice metric for this national indicator is between 35-40 days.
