CT HFMA Congratulates Our HFMA Colleagues At Norwalk Hospital - Winners of the HFMA MAP Award!

Norwalk Hospital, along with 5 other hospitals, was awarded the MAP [Measure, Apply, Perform ] Award for Performance Improvement in revenue cycle at the Health Care Financial Management [HFMA] October MAP conference. The MAP Award recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate measurable improvement in MAP Revenue Cycle Keys- key performance indicators that set the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry.

Norwalk Hospital was recognized for its recent revenue cycle LEAN performance improvement activity over the past few years.  This activity resulted in net days of accounts receivable of 29 days, which measures the average length in days to secure payment after service is provided.  The best practice metric for this national indicator is between 35-40 days.
