Wednesday, July 29, 2020
11:00 AM – 1:15 PM
Program Objective/Description: Affordable educational opportunities for finance professionals in Community Health Centers (CHC) in New England are limited. The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) chapters in New England have developed this webinar to specifically address topics of value for the Finance, Billing and Front-End staff of Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providers.
- FQHC Specific Strategies for Using Data to Increase Cash Collections – PMG, Inc.
Many CHC organizations struggle to find a proven method of increasing cash collections while simultaneously decreasing costs. Practice leadership is often frustrated with a lack of visibility into revenue cycle performance, and revenue cycle managers may be missing the critical data needed to quantify problems and propose solutions. Additionally, most electronic medical records and practice management systems are not optimized for revenue cycle reporting and data analytics. Rendering billing processes are often unsophisticated and ineffective. Your CHC team is buried in spreadsheets and spinning its wheels trying to make progress.
But a major trend in Healthcare can help you change all of that. Healthcare data is more available than ever before. Recent reports show that the volume critical health care data is poised to more than double every other year. Attend this program to unlock real FQHC specific strategies for using data to empower your revenue cycle efforts. You’ll learn about the most accessible data sources and how to put them into action.
- Data Driven Decision Making – BKD LLP
What are the financial implications of the decision that is about to be made? If we open a new clinic, what will our balance sheet look like in five years? If we bring dental in-house, outsource our billing, add a mental health providers, what will that do to our financial condition? To make these types of decisions, a Health Center needs data and although the financial side is not the only factor to consider, it certainly should be a key part of the decision making process. During this session, we will discuss the financial information that should be generated and analyzed by the Health Center on an on-going basis. We will also talk about the monthly board packet, dashboards, and the use of charts and graphs to show financial information.
Who Should Attend: Controllers, Billing Managers and Staff, and Front-end Staff. Non-HFMA members are always welcome.
