The AVP, Finance (AVP-F) reports to the Vice President, Finance and plays a key role in the strategic and financial well-being of the institution by ensuring the accuracy of the hospital’s books and records. Big 4 accounting experience (manager or senior manager level) and not-for-profit experience are highly desirable. Major teaching-/surgical-hospital experience is highly desirable. Strong technical expertise in FASB/GAAP and associated technical issues; highly analytical; capable of providing strategic analysis and insight on financial reporting, revenue cycle, and treasury. Ability to counsel and advise Hospital leadership on a range of related matters.
Proven experience with all aspects of financial reporting in hospital environments (e.g., reporting, financial-statement analysis, budgets, revenue/AR, pensions, and benefits).
Demonstrated expertise and know-how in revenue cycle.
Proven experience with all aspects of treasury in hospital environments (e.g., banking, cash management, investments, endowments).
Experience in leading and achieving results in a matrixed environment, with capability of resolving issues through innovative problem solving and solution development.

Job Description
The role interfaces with many departments and functions within the Hospital. The AVP-F will be involved in quality and improvement initiatives, particularly as they relate to revenue cycle. The position is supported by two direct reports and their staff: a director of accounting with primary responsibility for reporting, financial-statement analysis, audits, revenue/AR, and pension and benefits accounting; a director of treasury, who is focused on banking, cash management, endowments, and investments. The total department is comprised of approximately 10 people. Job Description
The Director of Revenue Cycle’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) supervision of staff to insure effective and efficient use of resources and to maximize cash collections. Also includes regulatory compliance with Medicare and Medicaid billing protocols and compliance with managed care contract terms.
