CT HFMA Annual Meeting, June 10, 2009 The Economic Outlook for the Connecticut Health Care Industry
The 57nd Connecticut Chapter HFMA annual meeting was held June 10, 2009 at the Buckman Center at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. This year’s well attended meeting featured a dynamic panel discussion on the “Economic Outlook for the Connecticut Healthcare Sector”.
Jim Cullen, President and CEO of Gaylord Hospital, served as panel moderator. Serving on the panel were Stephen Frayne, Senior Vice President, Health Policy, Connecticut Hospital Association, Stephen McPherson, President & CEO, Masonicare, Cristine Vogel, Commissioner, State Office of Health Care Access, and Jeannette Weldon, Managing Director, Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority.

The day was enjoyed by over 120 golfers who participated in this year’s event, with another 20 attendees at the reception held at the Golf Club that evening.

HFMA Leadership Training Conference (LTC) April 18 -21, 2009, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Annually, HFMA holds the LTC which is for incoming chapter Officers and Newsletter Chairs. It is a wonderfull opportunity for all of the Chapters to come together with the National HFMA Leaders and staff, for the new Officers to learn their responsibilities and for everyone to network with their peers. This year Jim Harris, CT Chapter President, Joe Pajor, President Elect and Janet Roemer, Newsletter Chairperson attended LTC.

Special Event - Connecticut Sun WNBA Game, July, 2007
CT HFMA members received a special invitation to the July 22, 2007 Connecticut Sun's WNBA game at the Mohegan Sun Arena. They were treated to a block of premium seats and a pre-game tour of the arena, including locker rooms, media room and sky boxes. Here some of them are with the CT Sun mascot, Blaze, and cheerleaders.
